The story portrays two high school teenagers, Fay Crocker, a switchboard operator played by Sierra McCormick and DJ Everett played by Jake Horowitz, in a small town Cayuga, New Mexico, in the 1950s era. They were investigating a strange sound coming from the radio and the switchboard when all the students and the staff of the high school were at the basketball game. Fay heard the noise when it interrupted the sound of her friend Everett’s live radio broadcast of the game. They investigated this strange noise which was descending upon their town, the whole night.
